Graduated!

After so long, finally I have the urge to write up about my final semester. This semester was seriously one hectic semester for all of us. Not long after the 8th semester opens, we had to go to school for Internship for a month. The best thing about Internship was there are no lecturers who would come and visit us. Evaluations was done solely by the school. However, you have to focus on your Action Research. I seriously would advice you to get it done as early as the 7th semester practicum. The lecturers will advice you to do the same. Initial survey, interviews or what ever your method of data collection will be, get it done early. One month is not enough to do a research. Unless you want a crappy one then maybe one month will just be sufficient. During the one month period, the school will also assigned you with projects and make used of your one month at the school to get some things done. That is why, you probably have no time for your action research. Start early kids!

During the last day of Internship

Not long after the Internship, we had to rush to finish our lectures, tutorials and assignments. We were also busy arranging and making sure the folders for MQA were complete, just in case they pick our IPG for the MQA. Below was the first group picture we had as a group with our tutor. After so many years, only towards the end we realized that we do not have a group picture. That was the informal one.

Formal one

Then, we have to prepare for our Action Research presentation seminar. This is quite a serious matter because it was done outside the IPG and 30% of our marks are from the presentation. Therefore, committee members have to work together and work hard to get it done. We also have a banner competition during the seminar. Hence, we had some photo-shoot done for the banner.

During the photo-shoot
Some photos during the photo-shoot. Thank you Candice for this collage.

Hard work pay off when we won the best banner during the seminar. Other classes' banner was also awesome. I can see they put a lot of editing skill into it. Its just our luck and probably our simple design won some extra votes.
With our banner and Amirul, who was one of the banner designer. He was also the first one to get married in our class. Congratulation again Amirul!

The seminar was a two day event. The most nerve racking part was when they call your name to present your action research. Only God knows how nervous I am during that day but most of my friends said I was very calm. After presentation, its like a tonne of weight had been lift off my shoulders. I think everyone felt very relieved after that.

A group photo with the lecturers

A month after the seminar we had our SPP interviews. We only found out like few days before the actual interview. 13 of us was the first to be interview from IPG Gaya. We went to IPG Kent for the interview. It was nice to be able to visit IPG Kent. When I said the Action Research presentation was nerve racking, this is worse. Its like your future depends on it.  Still, we got through it and I think my group did very well. It was the luck of being the last group I think because the panels were a little restless since its already past lunch time.

Group photo before going back. You can see how empty the hall were because we were the last one there!

Now, everyone is safely at their hometown. Some went for holiday trip and some like me, just stay at home and waiting for Christmas to come. I am starting to miss everyone..
